Systems Technician - Field Tech. Support

Qualifications:

Installation of PC-based systems
Perform simple file modifications to configure software
Install drivers, printers, and other peripheral devices in a Windows 2000/XP system environment
Resolve technical issues related to the configuration and use of computer systems


Requirements:

This position requires up to 5 days a week travel.
Must have good customer interface skills.
Must have good problem solving skills and be comfortable working in a non-structured environment.
Able to work independently.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Solid desktop support and troubleshooting skills, including hands-on experience with a variety of hardware platforms running Windows Operating systems
Ability to understand how computers interact with a network, server operations, IP addresses, software installation and basic trouble shooting
Able to work independently
Excellent verbal skills
AS degree or equivalent experience in information technology
5 – 6 years experience in both server and desktop administration and/or network installation
2 years experience providing technical training to end users
Nice to have but not required – A+, Networking+ certification

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical activities required on a daily basis will consist of sitting, standing and walking throughout the office. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
Customer office facilities and/or industrial environment.

Travel: This position requires up to 5 days a week travel.
